02 Sep spring birthday – in the garden
Helloooo 🙂 How are you going? It is my birthday today! Such a lovely time of year to be grateful for my life. To celebrate I planted my first plants of a spring garden on my balcony.
My garden is constrained by the fact that it is a balcony, so I can only grow in pots, but I plan to fill my balcony this year, so that when I go out there to sit with the birdsong, I am surrounded by lush herbs and veges and flowers.
It is so lush. They soak up the water, and they will be happy in the sun 🙂 My little plants.
It is finally the time of year to begin, and so please find following some research into what to grow now, during these first few weeks of spring!
For lush pestos and fragrant garnishes:
Vegetables in pots
You have probably heard of the dirty dozen and the clean fifteen? The dirty dozen is the vegetables and produce most affected by pesticides. The clean fifteen is the least affected. They bring out this list every year. It would be a good idea to grow things that are most pesticide affected!
And some that are just my favourites: 🙂
Phew! that is quite a list 🙂 If I get half of that done I will be happy. Then, when I harvest it, I will have a dinner party to celebrate fresh produce from the garden! I am going to be a busy bee getting all this in, but it will be lush when it is done! 🙂
Now it is time to go and toast to my plants and to spring, and to life, with a glass of wine on the balcony 🙂
I bought prawns and oysters for dinner before my online class 🙂 Lush, decadent, delicious, perhaps!
