10 May food for warmth
Food can be so comforting too. I have been thinking the past few days, how it is customary when someone dies, to give the people who are left a gift of something warm and nourishing. Such a kind thought, , , because I think grief is one of those emotions that renders you paralysed to some extent.
This week, I had the forethought, to make some comfort food, and then purchased (in the favourite of all adventures), some chicken stock, and tiny shell pasta, celery, and tomato pomodoro, , , and parmesan cheese, and did cook up a big pot of tomato and vegetable soup with tiny shell pasta.
It got me through the worst of it, I reckon, evolving from a soup, with crusty bread, to a ratatouille with mash, to nachos, to a spaghetti bolognaise, hehe. All these varieties of a meal, that was always comforting, and because it was so easy to prepare, I did manage to eat, a little, which is truly amazing.
